FABRIC REQUIRED:
2 1/4 yards White fabric (for background squares and for the strips in your lion manes)
1/2 yard Deep gold or yellow fabric(s) (for lion mane and ears)
12" WOF White Terry Cloth or a HEAVY flannel for lion faces. You do not want to use anything that is semi-transparent.
10” square Gold fabric for nose bridge and ears (should have some contrast to lion mane fabric)
10” square Black or Dark Brown Fabric (for eyes, nose and mouth)
2-3 yards Lightweight, double-sided fusible interfacing, such as Wonder Under or HeatnBond Lite, depending upon your applique choices.
OPTIONAL:
• Creative Grids 2.5” Non-slip Tumbler Strip Ruler. or alternatively print the Tumbler template on page 3.
• Basic sewing supplies: sewing machine, thread*, pins, scissors, fabric markers, etc.
• A 15.5” square up ruler is handy
• Iron and pressing surface
• Applique pressing sheet
• Optional: Elmer’s Washable School Glue or a washable glue stick
