This quilt is the third in Scissortail Quilting's series of Classic Beginner quilt patterns. Designed for beginner's who want to make classic and timeless quilt designs that do not quickly become outdated.
This quilt pattern features detailed instructions for making the nine-patch units and the square-in-a-square units. Beginners will gain confidence from the educational nature of the instructions while learning a new technique (reusable foundations). Seasoned quilters will appreciate a pattern that makes good use of accumulated scraps.
The finished design measures 64.25" x 77".
Pattern requires the following materials:
2 yards of background #1 fabric
2.5 yards of background #2 fabric
Assorted scraps of 1.5" strips or squares, enough to make (116) 3.5" (Unfinished) nine-patch blocks. If you don’t have many scraps, you can use a layer cake or a fat eighth bundle.
TOOLS: Rotary cutter and mat, and any appropriate rulers for cutting and trimming. (I used a 3.5" x 12.5" strip ruler and a small square ruler), clear washable elmer’s glue stick (not the purple) and a printer and copy paper to print the included foundation template.
NOTE: This listing is for a downloadable version of the pattern. A printed copy will NOT be mailed to you.
